Alberta Parks issues fire ban for Elkwater, Cypress Hills

@MedicineHatNews Elkwater and Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park are now under a fire ban, according to Alberta Parks, joining most areas south of Calgary with some level of fire advisory or restriction. Cypress County has banned open fires and fireworks since June, with officials citing hot, dry conditions and volumes of cured grass after a rainy spring. In southwest Saskatchewan, bans are in place along the Alberta boundary from the RMs of Maple Creek, Big Stick, Enterprise and Chesterfield. A fire restriction is in place in the RM of Deer Forks. 6-5
