Police charge two men in Tower Estates shooting that left one person injured

A person visiting Tower Estates was shot with a handgun last Saturday during an altercation in the area between two males, leading to the arrest of Kris Simons and Brent Heath, both 36 years of age.

In a release police say several individuals arrived at a residence in the early morning hours of Aug. 3 and confronted a visitor. That confrontation escalated resulting in one of the males discharging a handgun, injuring the visitor who suffered a gunshot wound.

An investigation led to Simons and Heath’s arrest.

Simons has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of controlled substance, as well as bail violations.

Heath has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, unlawful possession of a firearm, as well as related firearms offences.

From the press release it is unclear the severity of the gunshot wound or condition of the person who was shot. Both individuals remain in custody following judicial hearings.

Police are requesting anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact their Major Crimes investigators at 403-529-8481.
