The Medicine Hat Regional Hospital is currently seeking volunteers for non-medical related tasks.

These Volunteers are needed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to bring ice water and socialize with patients on a daily basis. A hand is also needed to assist patients on Mondays from 4- 5 p.m. by calling bingo, as well as helping with the set up and clean up.

Those interested in these roles, or any other volunteer position, are encouraged to reach out and complete the online application form at ahs.ca/volunteers to get started.

Volunteers will need to complete a criminal record check, health screening and confidentiality form prior to participating in online and site orientations, but training is available for all Alberta Health Services volunteers.

“Every day, dedicated volunteers are engaged in meaningful activities and roles that enhance the patient experience,” said AHS. “Volunteers come from diverse backgrounds but have one thing in common: a strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives and healthcare experiences of patients, residents, clients and their families.”

For more information about opportunities at MHRH, call 403-529-8847 or e-mail volunteer.medhat@albertahealthservices.ca.
