Beginning Monday a two-block section of Woodman Avenue will be closed for road rehabilitation work that will be completed in two separate stages until September.

Crews will begin work on the first stage of work that stretches from the intersection of Dominion Street up to the intersection of Queen Street.

The work includes an install and upgrades to stormwater infrastructure, pavement, curb and gutter replacement and other concrete surfaces as needed.

Once work is completed on the first stage of the project crews will then move from the Queen Street intersection to the intersection of Elm Street.

The city says there will be traffic detours in place and will change as crews shift between phases of the project.

The city is reminding motorists to obey all posted signs, speed limits and detours. The project is expected to be complete in September, weather permitting.

According to a press release this project is a key component of the city’s transportation infrastructure renewal strategy. A map of the closure can be found under the ‘news’ tab on the city’s website.
