Today is the last day to pay municipal property tax bills without penalty.
For decades city taxes have been due on June 30 each year, and typically collected on the last business day of the month – a change formalized several years ago.
Cypress County as well moved its tax deadline day to June 30 in 2020, up from the fall, where it was set years ago to accommodate the autumn cattle sales schedule.
The Town of Redcliff, as well, collects its property tax owing on June 30.
All three municipalities will accept payments until the end of business today at main offices or financial institutions from those customers who are not on instalment payment plans.
City taxes in arrears are charged an 8 per cent penalty in July and then a 1.2 per cent penalty in months after.
