6 Ave SE, 2nd St SE to be paved over weekend

The City will be paving the intersection of Sixth Avenue SE and Second Street SE this weekend as part of a larger construction project.

The paving work, part of the 3 St SE downtown utility and surface upgrades project, will see the intersection of Sixth Avenue SE and Second Street SE closed starting Friday until Sunday.

Crews will be oiling and paving the intersection weather permitting.

Second Street SE between South Railway Street and Fifth Avenue SE will temporarily change to two-way traffic over the period. These blocks will be open for local traffic only. Sidewalks will remain open for pedestrian access.

The intersection will be fenced off for the public’s safety. Motorists are asked to obey all construction and detour signage in the area.
