Man charged with sexual assault arrested days later for physical assault

Twenty-eight-year-old Brady Deering with no fixed address was arrested June 5 after an alleged sexual assault of a female downtown, and then was identified as a suspect in an unrelated physical assault following his court release.

Police responded to a report of a sexual assault after a female was walking to her place of employment when she was physically and sexually assaulted by a man who pushed her into a doorway and temporarily restrained her.

The female was able to get herself free however, and downtown patrol and Major Crimes Unit officers were able to locate and apprehend Deering after searching the area and interviewing witnesses and local business owners.

Deering was charged with assault, sexual assault and unlawful confinement, and was released on a recognizance after appearing before a justice of the peace.

A short time following his release Deering was arrested again as police identified him as a suspect in an unrelated physical assault. He is currently in custody awaiting another bail hearing.
