Mock motor vehicle collision planned on college campus this morning

A mock motor vehicle collision exercise will be staged at Medicine Hat College this morning beginning at 9:30 with members of the traffic unit along with other emergency service providers.

Grade 9 students will be attending the exercise that is being co-ordinated by Alberta Health Services’ Prevent Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth, better known as the PARTY program.

The program provides students information about trauma to enable them to identify and prevent potential injury-producing situations, and encourages students to adopt safe behaviours.

Police are asking members of the community to avoid the area if possible to ensure emergency vehicles will have easy access to the mock collision.
