The boil water advisory in Havre, Mont. has been lifted, according to that town’s public works department, one month after two residents were sickened with suspected Giardia.

On April 19, the city located south of Cypress County, Alta., announced the advisory saying the precautionary measure could last 20 days and was being done out of “an abundance of caution,” after which the system was flushed, disinfected with chlorine and tested.

On May 29, officials downgraded the situation and issued a “health advisory,” which no longer required residents to bring water for drinking and cooking to a rolling boil, but asks them to monitor their health and take typical precautions.
