@MedicineHatNews Medicine Hat police have arrested a man they say had $10,000 worth of drugs in a south-end motel room on Wednesday night. The MHPS criminal investigation section reports officers received a tip that the man was in possession of a large amount of narcotics. Police say that during a search of the hotel room on Redcliff Drive they seized amounts of methamphetamine and fentanyl with an estimated street value of $10,442. Ryan Paskaluk, 27, is charged with failing to comply with a release order and two counts of possessing a controlled substance. He remains in custody and is next due in Provincial Court of Justice on May 28. Guns seized MHPS also reported that a man has been charged after a gun went off in a north-end condo complex Thursday. Police say they received a call of a gunshot at the Northland Point complex on May 23, and they found a loaded, restricted and a stolen gun in a residence. Several long guns and a pistol were taken into evidence. Wyatt Martin, 23, is charged with careless use of a firearm, two counts of possessing a restricted weapon, possessing a loaded restricted firearms, altering a serial number and possessing a weapon obtained by crime. He has been released on bail and set to appear next in court on June 13. 12
