The Medicine Hat Interpretive Program is looking to bring residents along on a deep dive into the world beneath their feet in a new free program.

June 4 will see Underground Cities, a nature walk themed around “vibrant and interesting life beneath our grasslands just waiting to be explored,” said the MHIP.

From insects, to birds, to mammals, the program will talk about the many things that make the area so special, said the MHIP. They added that this program will delve into some of the

questions raised in the teaser video from December.

“We’ll be chatting about the interesting life that resides beneath the surface in our grasslands. So put on your walking shoes and come explore the park with us – who knows, we might even spot some wildlife! This walk is suitable for visitors using mobility aids, so don’t hesitate to join us,” said the MHIP.

The walk will be on if it rains, so participants are encouraged to dress for the weather, as it will only be rescheduled in the event of lightning or if the rain is too heavy to be outside.

No registration is required, and the walk is free to attend. It will take place in Police Point Park from 2:00pm-3:00pm.
