Medicine Hat College staff were recognized earlier this month for their work supporting faculty members, at the College & Institutes Canada Connection Conference held in Calgary.

The Centre for Innovation & Teaching Excellence was awarded the Leadership Excellence Award for Non-Managerial Staff, a prestigious award that “celebrates the exceptional contributions made by individuals or teams within their institution and the broader community,” said MHC in a press release.

“The impact of CITE’s work is undeniable. It is most visible in their commitment to supporting faculty members in delivering outstanding student experiences,” says Kevin Shufflebotham, MHC president and CEO. “From one-on-one coaching to pioneering technology initiatives, CITE has continuously elevated the learning experience at Medicine Hat College.”

CITE works on internal learning experiences, such as the Geekapalooza event, but has also broadened their scope to include the wider community through initiatives such as their involvement in supporting the Medicine Hat Police Services Patrol Supervisor Training.

“CITE’s creativity and resourcefulness have been instrumental in overcoming challenges, particularly during the difficult times we’ve faced. From innovative programs to efforts to engage everyone, they have consistently demonstrated their ability to adapt and thrive,” said Shufflebotham.
