On Thursday police arrested and charged 52-year-old Robert Leduc who has no fixed address with 12 offences in connection to a series of damage caused to a series of businesses and vehicles located along Carry Drive on Wednesday morning.

Leduc has been charged with four counts of mischief over $5,000 and seven counts of mischief under $5,000. He has also been charged with one count of causing a false fire alarm.

Leduc was remanded into custody and appeared in the Calgary Court of Justice Friday.

In the early morning hours Wednesday police responded to a report of extensive damage as several windows had been smashed or broken at seven separate businesses. Several vehicles in the area also had broken windows and a telecommunication box was vandalized.

Police released a photo of the suspect on social media after reviewing video surveillance from the area around the time of the offences asking the public for any information.

Police say they would like to extend thanks to members of the community who provided information that aided in the investigation.
