Medicine Hat senior charged with arson for 2023 restaurant fire

Police have charged 77-year-old Keith Knight with arson for a fraudulent purpose following a lengthy investigation by the Criminal Investigation Section.

First responders were called to a report of a structure fire on the morning of Aug. 14, 2023 located on the 500 block of Rutherford Street.

The Medicine Hat man was charged May 1 and was released on an undertaking to appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court June 11.
