Local physician’s 2019 sexual assault charge dismissed by court in June 2023

A Medicine Hat physician who faced a sexual assault charge in 2019 had his charges dismissed by courts last year.

Dr. Arnold Nzale Nzali was charged on Oct. 16, 2019. A record of proceedings verifies Nzali was dismissed of his sexual assault charge by Justice Gordon Krinke on June 2, 2023, four years after his initial charge.

Court records also show the case had a publication ban of alleged victim’s identifying information.

Due to the charges laid Nzali was forced to withdraw practising family medicine locally, however he tells the News he hopes to re-open his practice now that the case is behind him.
