A decision on an application to build a massive solar panel array in north Medicine Hat is expected in July.
Last month regulators heard from DP Energy, the company proposing to build the 1,600-acre Saamis Solar project north of Crescent Heights, as well as three groups that oppose parts of the $600-million project.
The Alberta Utilities Commission reports that is expects to issue a ruling on the entire project, including a related substation, by July 23.
The AUC typically rules within 180 days from the date the application is considered complete, which would have been April 27 in case of a substation required to put the power on to the Alberta transmission system.
Final written arguments on the power generation facility are due May 7.
