NDP critic for tourism to talk coal mining at MHPL tonight

The New Democrat critic for tourism will be in Medicine Hat tonight to discuss her party’s opposition to coal mining in the eastern slopes of the Rockies.

MLA Sarah Elmeligi (Banff-Kananaskas) will speak at the Medicine Hat Public Library, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

This month ranchers and environmental groups won a judgment ordering the release of government documents relating to the decision to lift a long-standing moratorium on new projects several years ago. The UCP government says it plans to appeal the ruling.
