An Alberta Federation of Labour event in Medicine Hat that was postponed has been re-scheduled to late April.

“Diversify Alberta” is a series of open houses featuring discussion of the opportunity for workers in the transition to a lower carbon economy.

It was to visit Medicine Hat in early March but several dates were cancelled when AFL president Gil McGowan contracted COVID.

New dates posted this week state the local event has been rescheduled to the evening of April 23 at the Cypress Centre on the Medicine Hat Stampede grounds. Registration is preferred at the campaign’s website diversifyalberta.ca.

An event in Brooks is rescheduled to April 22. A Lethbridge event goes April 24.

Energy journalist Markham Hislop will also be present. McGowan is also a candidate to become leader of the Alberta New Democrat party.
