Water main repairs this weekend will result in low pressure in some south-side communities on Sunday, the city’s utility department has announced.

Crews will begin work at the intersection of Strachan Road and Stratton Way on Sunday morning and should be finished by the late afternoon.

That will require a reduction in water pressure in all of Saamis Heights, Coulee Ridge and Spruce Close in South Ridge during the work.

Motorists are asked to be aware of road work and signs.

Gas price falls

The price of natural gas used in March will fall by about 20 per cent compared to February, according to new rates posted on Friday.

City utility customers will pay $2.02 per gigajoule, down from $2.49 last month. The city’s rate is now set against the cost of procuring gas for resale on the Alberta system, plus a premium of 7 cents per gigajoule.

The power rate for this quarter remains remains essentially unchanged for march at 9.3 cents per kilowatt hour. It will be reset on April 1 for the following three months.
