Brooks RCMP reports that a house on a rural property near duchess was badly damaged by fire in the early morning hours on Friday.

Fire crews were called to the property at about 12:30 a.m. on March 1 to find a large fire in progress causing “an immense amount of damage.”

Residents and animals in the home escaped without injury.

The investigation in to the cause of the blaze is ongoing, but not believed to be suspicious.

Track the plow

Highway travellers in Saskatchewan can now track the location of snow plows in that province on a realtime map, the department of highways announced last week.

The “Highway Hotline” internet site that provides weather and road conditions now shows active progress of 50 snow plows fitted with GPS units. The pilot program can provide up to two hours of data on each, according to a release.
