As Christmas nears, so does the annual tour of the CPKC Holiday Train to Medicine Hat.
Today marks the final day of the continent-wide food bank fundraising tour put on by the railroad, which includes a 3 p.m. stop in Medicine Hat before it concludes the day in Gleichen.
Hat-raised country star Mackenzie Porter and Dallas Smith are scheduled to perform the final stops of the tour that entered Canada from North Dakota on Sunday.
A performance was set for Mosaic Stadium in Regina on Monday before an evening show in Moose Jaw.
The train will begin its day today in Swift Current at 9:30 a.m. (local time), then visit Maple Creek at abut 1:30 p.m.
The Alberta portion begins in the Hat with a 3:15 p.m. (Mtn) show, then a stop at Tilley (5:30 p.m.), Brooks (6:45 p.m.) and concluding in Gleichen (8:45 p.m.).
That is the end of the U.S. leg of the trip. The Canadian leg took a northern route across the Prairies and arrived in Vancouver on Monday.
