Judge’s car stolen from courthouse

By MEDICINE HAT NEWS on December 14, 2023.

Using a key taken from a courthouse office to steal a retired judge’s Jeep has earned a Lethbridge man a month in prison.

Police were called in late September after duty counsel lawyer Jeremy DeBow reported that his car keys were missing and security footage showed a woman coming and going.

She later she confessed, but said she passed the key to an unknown man.

Police suspected Cory Raymond Cook, and three days later found the 2019 Jeep Wrangler – registered to retired judge Gerald DeBow – parked outside a home in the city.
