Morishita takes new role at lobbying firm

https://www.medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews Barry Morishita, the former mayor of Brooks and leader of the Alberta Party, will join a lobbying firm that specializes in municipal consulting. Alberta Counsel announced Nov. 30 that Morishita will join the firm along with former Vegreville town councillor Taneen Rudyk. As an elected official, Morishita also served as the president of Alberta Municipalities, a lobbying association of urban cities and towns in the province, while Rudyk is a past president of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. “I’m excited to jump back into working with municipalities from across the province,” said Morishita in a statement. “It was an absolute privileged to lead the AUMA and build some incredible relationships, so the next stage in my career made a lot of sense. The firm was founded in 2015 by former MLA Shayne Saskiw. 7-6
