In Redcliff, Remembrance Day observations begin with a Colours March starting outside the Legion just before 10 a.m.

The march will lead veterans and members of the legion inside Parkside School for a ceremony that begins at 10 a.m.

Following the ceremony there will be a short march to the cenotaph outside the school for the wreath-laying ceremony and moment of silence that will begin at 11 a.m. Members of the local Guides and Brownies as well as students from Parkside School will participate in the ceremonies.

Afterwards the public is invited to join veterans in the legion for a time of fellowship.

“It’s a day I can honour the veterans that fought for the freedom of not only Canada but worldwide, and often gave up their lives to fight for peace,” said Darryl Eagles, Redcliff Legion member and retired RCMP veteran.

Doors to the Esplanade open at 8:30 a.m. in Medicine Hat with observations scheduled to begin at 9:15 a.m.

A parade procession will depart the Esplanade at 10:30 a.m. and make its way to the cenotaph in Riverside Memorial Park.

A service will begin at the cenotaph at 11 a.m that will include two minutes of silence.

Due to the parade and ceremony, First Street SE from Fourth Avenue and N. Railway Street, including the Finlay Bridge, will be closed starting at 8:30 a.m. until the ceremony concludes.
