The Medicine Hat Public Library has lots of activities and events coming up for the tweens and teens.

The InbetTween Book Club for ages 10-12 will meet at 6 p.m. on Nov. 2, 9, 16 and 23, and registration is required to attend. The group will be reading The First Rule of Punk by Celia Perez, which is now available at the library, with themes of diversity, creativity and self-expression explored during the meetings.

The Teenverse book club for ages 13-19 will meet Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. with registration required. This month is the gothic-inspired fantasy book Gallant by V.E. Schwab, which will be available Nov. 1 at the information desk. Everyone who attends is asked to have the book read by the meeting date because after a short discussion, there will be an escape room based on the book. Additionally, V.E. Schwab has sent a special gift to the library to give to each Teenverse attendee.

On Friday, Nov. 24 for ages 13-19, TIC TAC is hosting Barbie Night at the library. Doors will be open from 6:45 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. before they are locked for safety reasons. No registration is required and those attending are encouraged to come as their favourite Barbie, Ken or Allan for a chance to win the ‘best in show’ costume contest. A creative session will take place where participants will be able to make a Weird Barbie or Mojo Dojo Casa House.

For those between the ages of 12 and 16 who are interested in Dungeons and Dragons, this month MHPL is hosting Treasure Hunt: DND Oneshot. The sky is the limit in this story and if the dice rolls in your favour, almost anything can be accomplished. Those who attend are asked to come prepared with a premade level 4 character.

Registration is required for DND Oneshot – 1 p.m. on Nov. 9 in Honeycomb House or Nov. 10 in the Legion Room – please register for one date only. Those who are already in the Tuesday night Pop Up campaign are asked not to register for this oneshot.

The Honeycomb House is open for drop-in on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-7:30 p.m. along with Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4:30 p.m.
