City hall open house offers chance for feedback on array of hot topics

https://www.medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews Hatters are invited to ask questions and give their opinion about a host of key municipal priority projects and general operations at an open house next week at city hall. That includes a community wellness plan and the environmental framework – both firsts for the city – as well as planned updates to standing documents, such as the transportation masterplan and the coming update to the municipal land-use bylaw. The planning department will handle the Strong Towns urban planning exercise. The utility department will also be on hand to discuss the recently proposed eastern ring reinforcement project that could connect north and south power facilities with a new line in several years. The Environmental utilities department will discuss the waste water system. Staff from the respective departments will be on hand from 4-8 p.m. on Nov. 1 at city hall to discuss the work and gather feedback. 8-7
