The annual Coats on Finlay event to help keep Hatters warm is returning Saturday, and not a day too soon with snow arriving in full force on Tuesday.
If you have a new or gently used adult or child coat that is not being worn, bring it down to hang on Finlay Bridge. For those who need a coat to stay warm, come and browse through the selection and select one to take home for free. It’s not only coats, donations of all winter attire are needed, such as hats, scarves, gloves and mittens.
The event begins at noon Saturday and volunteers will be onsite until approximately 10 p.m. Coats and other attire will remain on the bridge overnight before being transferred to the Post Thrift Boutique where they will continue to be available free of charge while supplies last.
This is the fourth year for the Coats on Finlay event and organizers are hoping 2023 is another success.
