Warm and dry September in Montana

Glasgow, Mont., recorded its second warmest September on record last month, according to the U.S. National Weather Service office in the town located about two hours east of Havre.

As well, the recent month was only the second time the temperature in the area did not fall below 40F (about 5C) during September. That occurred in the early fall of 2001 as well.

The average temperature for the month was 65.8F (19C). Rainfall for the month was about three quarters of an inch, whereas one inch is the long-term normal.
