As a lead-up to Pet Fest this weekend, the Animal Food Bank is having a Fill the Truck pet supplies drive.
The truck is located at Big M Ford Lincoln, and supplies can be dropped off during regular working hours (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.) through Friday. All pet supplies are needed, including food, toys, treats, leashes, collars and crates.
Animal Food Bank founder Nicola Frey said this is the last week of the drive and the truck is only partially filled. She says her organization is on track this month for a record number of requests for assistance and the shelves are bare.
Fill the Truck is a lead-up to PetFest, which is runs Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Pavilion at Stampede grounds. There will be a market, demos, a pup-cake breakfast, photo booth, silent auction and more. Admission is free and more information is available at exploremedicinehat.ca/petfest/.
