MHPS hosting ’emergency preparedness’ open house at Veiner Centre

https://www.medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews City police will host an “emergency preparedness” open house at the Unison Veiner Centre on Thursday morning, aimed at informing members of the public on how to prepare and what to expect during a public emergency. The city’s emergency social services team will also be on hand from 9:45 a.m. until noon to answer questions. First responders and emergency management officials will also answer questions from the public at the drop-in event. Boardwalk work The timber boardwalk through a portion of Saratoga Park Trail will be closed next week as contractors replace rotten boards, plus replace a culvert and asphalt on the path adjacent to the city’s storage yards near the Seven Persons Creek. The pathway will be closed from Dunmore Road to a junction with pathway that connects College Drive to Kipling Street until later in October. Similar repair work into next month includes a pathway connecting McCutcheon Drive in Crescent Heights to Altawana Drive, which will see timbers replaced and shale path replaced with asphalt. Trail users there are asked to use Seventh Street NW as an alternate route. 10-9
