One man facing charges after police say he tried to break into apartment block

https://www.medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews A man has been charged after police say they caught him trying to break into a unit at an apartment block in north River Flats. Medicine Hat police say they responded to a call shortly after midnight on Monday morning of a disturbance at a multi-family housing facility on the 900 block of Second Street SE. Containing a person to the suite, officers called in crisis negotiators and the tactical team. At about 3:30 a.m., officers entered and arrested the man without incident. He remains in custody facing charges of possessing a dangerous weapon, uttering threats, mischief to property and breaching probation. His name will not released until a bail hearing can be conducted. 7-6
