https://www.medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews Daniel Remfert has won the vacant seat of the Town of Taber’s council, according to unofficial results of voting announced Thursday night. Remfert secured 241 votes in the Sept. 7 byelection, placing ahead of second-place finisher Dale Tilleman with 179. Naomi Weibe was third with 121 votes in the seven person contest. The seat was left open after former councillor Alf Rudd resigned in June to accept a job with the municipality. Also nominated in the race were Cat Champagne (95 votes), Mani Parhar (86), Mike Krchnak (79) and Ian Croft (13). Results will become official Monday and the winner sworn in at the council’s meeting on Sept. 11. 7
