Brooks RCMP investigating ‘accidental’ shooting at night club

Mounties say a 45-year-old Brooks man was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound and was flown for treatment in Calgary with “significant injuries.” He is reported to be in stable condition. Police arrived at the night club at 1:09 a.m. on Aug. 24. Further investigation has revealed that this was an accidental discharge of a firearm. Video surveillance shows the victim showing his firearm to another person when it discharged and he shot himself. No other people were injured. The investigation continues and charges are pending. 7-6
