Wright named UCP’s new liaison for military relations

Cypress-Medicine Hat MLA Justin Wright has been made the liaison for military relations in the United Conservative government.

The first-term MLA who was elected in May was sworn in Thursday to the post, which along is meant to assist ministers with portions of their portfolios or special projects.

Wright’s was among eight appointments made in mid-July, including Taber-Warner MLA Grant Hunter as parliamentary secretary for “agri-food” development. The former associate minister of Red Tape Reduction will work with Agriculture and Irrigation minister R.J. Sigurd son.

Chestermere-Strathmore MLA Chantelle De Jonge was made the aid for Affordability and Utilities, Shane Getson, of Lac Ste. Anne-Parkland, Economic Corridor development, and Martin Long, of West Yellowhead, rural health.

Other appointments related to Indigenous relations, Indigenous policing, Ukrainian resettlement, and small business and northern development.
