On Friday evening, when the Medicine Hat Mavericks take on the Regina Red Sox at Athletic Park, four-legged friends will accompany fans for the second annual Bark in the Park. The event is sponsored by All Dogs Great and Small, a local dog daycare and training company.

“Last year was very successful, with the park nearly sold out and between 300 and 400 dogs attending. It went surprisingly well,” said co-owner Adam Jones. “There were no skirmishes, no headaches and everything went really well.”

This year, they wanted to do something different.

“We really wanted to give back to the local dog community. We’ve partnered up with the SPCA so we’ve given all our promotional material to them so they can promote the dogs they have in their shelter,” explained Jones.

Head over to All Dogs Great and Small and make a donation to the SPCA and receive tickets to the game.

“We have tickets to give away, so people can come in and donate as much or as little as they would like and we will match that donation up to a maximum of $600 to go to the SPCA,” stated Jones.

All Dogs Great and Small is located at 1889 Sixth Ave. SW. It is open from 6:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Go to medhatdogs.ca for more information or check out its Facebook page.
