Echo Dale swim lake finally able to open Saturday

Hatters will be able to beat the summer heat with a swim at Echo Dale starting this weekend.

The City of Medicine Hat announced Tuesday the Echo Dale Regional Park Swim Lake will open Saturday. Hours of operation will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The opening was delayed as a result of efforts to replace the boat lake liner.

Work to replace the boat lake liner, which was leaking due to damage, began in March.

The work was originally expected to complete in late June but weather and unforeseen circumstances pushed back the project’s overall timeline and slightly widened its scope in regards to the swim lake.

An update on the opening of the boat lake has not yet been provided.
