Suspicious package determined to be spent fireworks

A suspicious package that led to the deployment of Medicine Hat Police Service’s bomb disposal unit and temporarily closed several businesses on Friday has been determined to have contained spent fireworks, MHPS announced Tuesday morning. The release says the package – found on the 600 block of Clay Avenue – is “believed to have been inadvertently left as garbage and not deliberately placed to cause fear.” The investigation into the matter has concluded. 4-3
