Two-day concert festival kicks off Friday at Mainliner Pub

Hatters, get ready to rock out to bands from Medicine Hat and beyond during the 2023 Alternative Waves Music Festival.

Taking place Friday and Saturday at the Mainliner Pub, the festival includes performances by more than 40 bands spanning a multitude of music genres, with focus on hard rock and metal.

Bands will perform on two separate stages: an indoor and an outdoor stage set up in the festival’s beer garden.

Performances kick off Friday at 6 p.m., and are expected to run until roughly 2 a.m. The festival continues Saturday, with performances beginning at 1:30 p.m. and running until roughly 1:30 a.m.
