Milk River now loses its emergency room for two weeks

Milk River Health Centre’s Emergency Department will be closed for the next two weeks due to a lack of physician coverage.

The centre, which has frequently been challenged by physician shortages throughout the past year, closed Monday morning at 8 a.m. It is scheduled to reopen June 23 at 5 p.m.

Milk River and area residents in need of urgent medical care during the closure are recommended to call 911 for EMS assistance, or seek care at the Raymond Health Centre (60 kilometres away) or Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge (87 kilometres away).
