Grant Hunter has been re-elected as the UCP MLA for the riding of Taber-Warner, which includes the County of Forty Mile.

Hunter previously won the riding in the past two elections, in 2015 and 2019, including by a 66 per cent margin in 2019.

With more than half of stations reporting at 10:45 on Monday, Hunter had received 5,737 votes, well ahead of NDP challenger Jazzmin Hintz (1,218) and former area MLA Paul Hinman (372) as a candidate of the new Wildrose Loyalty Coalition.

Also in the race were Frank Kast (Independence Party), Joel Hunt (Green) and Brent Ginther (Solidarity Alberta), each with fewer than 100 votes at press time.

Drumheller-Stettler

Incumbent and recent agriculture minister Nate Horner was re-elected in his riding of Drumheller-Stettler, which includes the Special Areas and Acadia Valley.

The UCP candidate likely secured a second-term with 5,684 votes with half stations reporting at 10 p.m. – equating to a near 5,000 vote lead over NDP candidate Juliet Franklin, a pharmacist from Hanna.

Also running were Carla Evers (Solidarity Alberta), Shannon Packham (Independence) and Hannah Stretch Viens (Wildrose Loyalty Coalition).
