Suspect from high-risk incident remains in custody awaiting counsel

https://www.medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews A man involved in a standoff with police on Tuesday will remain in custody while he obtains a lawyer. Jeremiah James Amero, 32, was arrested May 2 after a three-hour standoff with police at a Southwest Hill residence. His matters were taken up Thursday at Medicine Hat Court of Justice where duty counsel informed the court the accused was still seeking legal counsel. The matter was adjourned to May 11. Amero is charged with pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon, possessing dangerous weapons, uttering threats and failing to comply with release orders. 7-6
