Birding field trip Saturday hosted by Grasslands Naturalists at various southeast Alberta spots

On Saturday, a half-day birding field trip led by Phil Horsch, president of Grasslands Naturalists, is taking place. The plan is to visit Echo Dale Park and Rattlesnake Reservoir. Golden Sheaf Park, Sauder Reservoir and Murray Lake are also possible sites the field trip will visit depending on time and weather permitting.

The goal of the field trip is to monitor spring bird migration, particularly waterfowl and raptors. Bird identification and migration habits will be taught to participants.

Modifications to the trip will be made depending on weather and road conditions. Carpooling will be used and those interested are meeting at the A&W on Gershaw Drive at 8 a.m.
