Medicine Hat Community Chorus is inviting Hatters to join in a celebration of Canada, with special tribute to Medicine Hat, during its All the Way Home concert.

Taking place Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Fifth Avenue Memorial Church, the concert will feature an array of English and French songs written by Canadian musicians and performed by the approximately 20-person chorus.

To end the concert, the chorus deliver a special performance of ‘Medicine Hat’ written by Albertan Jack McCreath for the 1967 Centennial Musical, celebrating Canada’s centennial year.

“It’s a cool way to end our concert,” Medicine Hat College Conservatory vocal teacher and choral director Justine Wilks told the News. “The funny thing about our choir is only a handful of people in the choir are actually from Medicine Hat, but a lot of us have found our home here. So, it’s kind of cool that we can all enjoy being here, singing together.”

The concert is free to community members, though donations are welcomed.
