Premier Danielle Smith is in her riding to promote two issues as the May election approaches.

The MLA for Brooks-Medicine Hat was scheduled to hold a town hall meeting on policing in Brooks on Wednesday evening.

Another press conference in that city is set for Thursday morning with Health Minister Jason Copping.

That event will to focus on “the government’s commitment to add surgical capacity in more than a dozen Alberta communities,” according to a media notice.

On Tuesday, Copping outlined in a release budget support for upgrades to 33 pharmacies in Alberta Health Services facilities at 11 communities, including Medicine Hat.

The total cost of upgrades and renovations, needed to meet new national standards for mixing compounds, exposure and ventilation, is $54 million over three years.
