Pair of farmers markets begin their seasons May 20

Hatters are invited to celebrate the May long weekend by visiting one of two local farmer’s markets as they open for the spring/summer season.

Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede’s annual Farmer’s Market opens May 20 and will run each Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. until Oct. 7. The Summer Market will be located in the Cypress Centre.

A new market is also opening May 20, outside of Medicine Hat’s Homestead Market, located at 1750 Gershaw Drive. The market will run each Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. until Sept. 2.

Both markets will feature an array of locally grown and made goods, including fresh produce, homemade baking, handcrafted skin care items, as well as handmade decor, jewellery, apparel and more.

Vendor spaces are still available at both markets. Prospective vendors interested in the Stampede’s Farmer’s Market are asked to email mhstampede@mhstampede.com, and those interested in Homestead Market’s Summer Market to email kara@homesteadmarket.ca.
