Explosives testing at Suffield this week

Officials at CFB Suffield say explosives testing this week at the base northwest of Medicine Hat may be heard in the city.

The “energetic experiments” will take place between 8 and 10 a.m. through Thursday in the southwest corner of the training area.

Base officials state the total number of explosives is relatively small, but blasts may be heard at substantial distance and smoke may be seen in nearby areas.
