New chair of Alberta Beef Producers is a rancher from near Orion

Orion-area rancher Brodie Haugan is the new chair of the Alberta Beef Producers, the cattle rancher’s association announced Monday.

Haugan, who serves as the group’s finance chairman last year was elected board chair at the Beef Producer’s AGM conducted March 1 in Red Deer, according to a release.

Sheila Hillmer, of Del Bonita, is the 2023 vice-chair, while Fred Lozeman, of Claresholm, become finance chair.

Delegates for Zone 1 (Southeast Alberta) are Haugan, Craig Lehr (Medicine Hat), Darren Bevans (Raymond), Nanita Blomquist (Big Valley), Kent Holowath (Rumsey), and Scott Schiffner (Strathmore).
