Hat Grannies for Africa hosting fabric and yarn sale March 11

Medicine Hat Grannies for Africa is hosting its 16th annual Fabric, Yarn and More charity sale Mar. 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. John’s Presbyterian Church. A variety of items will be available for purchase at the sale, including fabric, yarn, thread, sewing notions and patterns, quilting supplies and decorative materials like beads. All proceeds of the sale will go toward the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign, which helps support grandmothers in sub-Saharan Africa who are caring for grandchildren orphaned by the AIDS/HIV epidemic. Medicine Hat Grannies for Africa has raised over $75,000 for the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign, and hopes to raise an additional $10,000 through this year’s sale. Admission to the sale is $1.
