MHC winter open houses for prospective students Mar. 3-4

Medicine Hat College is inviting prospective students near and far to its first winter open house taking place Mar. 3 and 4.

The open house will kick off at MHC’s Brooks campus Mar. 3 from 5:30-8 p.m., then will move to the Medicine Hat campus Mar. 4 from 1-3 p.m.

Open house attendees will will be given the opportunity to speak with current students and faculty, tour the campuses and residences and learn more about each program.

“We’re excited and ready to welcome students who may have never been to our campus or explored our city before,” MHC student recruitment co-ordinator Landon Heilman said. “Whether students are interested in a specific program, or they’re still trying to figure it out, (an) open house has proven to be the best opportunity to ask questions and get a feel for what students really want to know.”

While the open house is a public event, those who register for it will be automatically entered to win one of two draws; the first for MHC swag valued at $100 and the second for a Medicine Hat-themed prize pack, which includes a $100 gift card to Moxie’s along with items from other local businesses.

And the first registrants to arrive on both Brooks and Medicine Hat’s campuses on the scheduled open house days will be given a free MHC swag bag.

To further promote the event, MHC is waiving its $75 application fee for attendees applying for the upcoming fall semester. The college has also partnered with Holiday Inn Express to offer those travelling to the open house a special room rate.
