The Medicine Hat Interpretive Program is showcasing artwork created by community members in its upcoming exhibit Mosaic of Medicine Hat.

Running from Apr. 1-30 at the Police Point Park Nature Centre, the exhibit will be include works by local artists of all ages and skill levels.

“This is our first time doing any kind of community-built exhibit,” park interpreter Grace Porter told the News. “It’s a nice way to showcase artists that wouldn’t necessarily be able to have their art in a (professional) exhibit and gives everyone a good opportunity to showcase their artwork.”

Art of several mediums will be included in the exhibit, such as painting, drawing, photography, poetry, sculpture, etc.

Hatters who would like their artwork to be included are invited to submit at the Nature Centre from now through April. Work submitted prior to Mar. 29 will be included in the exhibit’s Apr. 1 display launch, while work submitted prior to will be added in days following.

While there are no limitations on the number of works an individual can submit, centre staff ask Hatters to be mindful of space constraints so all who wish to participate are able.

Members of the public are invited to visit the exhibit throughout April from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday. Admission is free.
